This page is intended to be a complete list of the Frequently Asked Questions we receive regarding a variety of website builder questions, whether they be from someone wanting more information before upgrading or creating an account, or a current member needing help accomplishing a task within their account.

Much of this information may be found elsewhere in this Wiki, and some of these questions link to pages throughout it, but this page will serve as a single page resource for the basic questions we receive to assist current and potential members in getting quick answers to their questions.

If you don't see an answer to your question here, please submit it to us at feedback@jigsy.com and we will reply with an answer and update this list.

Hosting

Paid hosting package users enjoy a variety of benefits not available to those with Free packages.

Current plans and pricing can be found at http://jigsy.com/about/pricing

If you're logged into your account currently, this address will get you there: http://jigsy.com/account/plans

We think you'll find we offer excellent value for each hosting package and that they are an affordable solution to your website hosting needs. As these prices and terms are subject to change, they will not be replicated here, but the most current available packages can be viewed per the above links.

What is the Trial package?

We created the Trial package to give new members a sense of what a paid hosting package can offer as the Trial package has many of the features paid members enjoy.

This ad free package is available to new subscribers free of charge for the first 2 days as they begin the process of building a website with us. After this time, we ask that they choose a paid package.

We hope this package makes for an enjoyable first experience with website builder and allows new users to discover what website builder can do for them!

My trial has expired - what now?

If your free trial has expired, all that is needed to continue managing your site with us is to simply upgrade the hosting package your site is to continue with. We offer a variety of paid plans at various price points and term lengths to accommodate you.

We hope this free offering has been an enjoyable experience, allowing you to build your website with our powerful but easy to use builder and set of components, and ask that you select a paid hosting package if you enjoyed the features and benefits of your Trial package!

You can review and select one of our plans on the upgrade page of your Account Overview.

What is a Custom package?

A custom package is simply a modified version of any of the standard packages we offer. If you find that you need more limits than are offered by our packages, we can set you up with a custom one - just contact us!

My website has been deactivated! How can I reactivate it?

If your Trial package expired and no action was taken to choose another hosting package, or if your account has been inactive for a sufficient length of time, your website will become inactive.

To reactivate it, simply contact us and we'll get you set up again!

Note: When your account is de-activated your website and all the content remains intact. After your account has been de-activated for a total of four months the account and all the sites associated to it are deleted (As much as we would really like to, it's too expensive to keep accounts around for people that have stopped using the site).

I own a website with another host - can I move my site on to website builder?

It's not currently possible to move website pages from another host to website builder. This is because the builder needs to create each new page your site uses and these must contain the Required HTML Elements the builder needs to interpret and display the page information. You can move website files over by downloading them from your other host then uploading them to your website builder account, and copy/paste any text you want to move to your website builder site to achieve a similar result.

General

How do I authorize my account?

To complete authorization of your account, simply click the activation link in the e-mail that is automatically sent to you upon completion of the account sign up found on the sign up page. This is sent directly to the address you used in registering this account. Please make sure there are no spam filters or settings that prevent this from reaching you!

Why do I have to authorize my account?

Authorization is just to verify the e-mail address you registered with as a valid one and confirm that you want to complete the registration process. This is a quick and easy last step that confirms you want to create an account with us and that you are not a spam bot.

How do I login using OpenID?

If you chose to register your account using OpenID, please note that you will need to login with an OpenID identity URL and not an e-mail address and password. If you don't know what this is, or need help retrieving it, please visit this page:

http://getsatisfaction.com/openid

How do I login to the website builder Message forum?

Creating a website builder account automatically creates an account at our Message Forum as well. Just login to your Jigsy account and click on the "Message Forums" link at the bottom of your dashboard.

Does website builder have a partner program?

website builder does offer an partner program! For more information, please contact us.

Will there be any advertisements on my site?

Ads are not included with any of the paid hosting packages. The free hosting package does includes ads which are the means by which we are able to offer a free package. If you have a paid hosting package and ads persist, please check that any third party widgets aren't generating these.

What are your terms of service?

Our terms of service can be found here.

Where can I be informed of new releases, updates and upcoming features?

Our development team maintains a Releases page detailing past and recent changes, as well as future updates complete with release date when available.

For announcements regarding new features and services planned for release but not yet on the releases page, please watch the website builder Blog!

We don't automatically submit websites to search engines at this time and note that over time, they will locate your website and index it accordingly. If you'd prefer not to wait, you can submit your website manually by visiting the appropriate location on their website. Some good places to submit your site to are:

http://www.google.com/addurl

http://www.bing.com/docs/submit.aspx

http://www.dmoz.org/add.html

We also encourage you to ensure your Site Map in the Website Settings section of the editor is enabled (it is by default).

Does website builder support Frontpage/external website builders?

No. Because website builder is a CMS (Content Management System) builder, you are editing all aspects of your website as they appear to an outside viewer and the current state of your website and it's pages will be seen while Using the Website Editor. This is convenient as you do not need to log out of your account or load your page separately to view your changes as you make them. This also means that only the internal builder can be used to manage your pages and no support is offered to external builders.

I have no more e-mail addresses - how can I create another account?

What we would suggest would be to create/use a Gmail account because with one Gmail account you can have as many email accounts as you want!

For example, if your email account is foo@gmail.com you can make as many as you want by adding +addition to it. So these are all valid:

foo+bar@gmail.com
foo+someclient@gmail.com
foo+anotherclient@gmail.com

etc..

And they all go to foo@gmail.com.

Billing:

Which payment types do you accept?

We currently accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards. If you wish to use an alternate payment method, please contact us.

How can I change my billing information?

To do this, simply click on the Billing link in your Account Overview area, then click on Update Billing Information. If logged into your account already, the direct link is: https://secure.jigsy.com/account/billing_details

How can I cancel recurring billing?

Recurring billing, or automatic renewal of your paid service upon expiration, can be canceled by clicking the "cancel" link in the "Next billing Date" field within your Account Overview.

How will the charges appear on my bank statement ?

All Jigsy charges will be listed on bank statements as VivitiCMS.

Why is my payment not being accepted?

This is typically due to a block or other error on the end of your card issuer. In these cases, we receive a message from your credit card company requesting you to call them. This is mandatory and when you do this, we ask you to authorize this charge with them, then contact us so that we can allow you to try this again. Please note that this can happen for any of the following reasons:

- Using a card that doesn't allow you to pay US funds to a Canadian company.
- Using a card where the bank blocks Canadian transactions (or any international transactions). Many US banks do this by default or if when applying for the card you add 'Fraud protection'.
- if per chance this is unusual credit card activity or purchasing on the Internet, the credit card company will prevent this purchase as a preventative measure.

How can I receive a refund?

If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, we offer a full refund within the first 30 days of purchase. Of course, we would appreciate to know what you found unsatisfactory so we can work to improve our services. If you're requesting a refund, please contact us and let us know, ensuring you supply your receipt with your request!

Technical:

Which browsers are compatible with website builder?

We recommend downloading the latest version of Firefox for use with website builder. It is also compatible with the latest versions of Safari, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer. Other browsers and earlier versions are supported, but for best use of our services, please try the above first.

If you are receiving a Browser Compatibility Warning when viewing your Account Overview page, we ask that you download the latest version of your browser, or use a browser supported by website builder.

Is [third party application] compatible with website builder?

At this time, there is no list of compatible third party applications for website builder. Typically, if the application requires no server side support and is HTML or Javascript code, it will work without issue. If in doubt, please contact us.

For help in adding third party applications to your website, please see Adding Third Party Web Tools.

Can I use a website builder Component on a non-website builder website?

Unfortunately not. website builder components are compatible with website builder sites only and we don't offer service code that can be copied and pasted to another website, thus the need for selection of a content location upon choosing a component.

Help:

How do I report a bug or issue?

If you believe you've found a bug or serious issue within your account, please contact us at feedback@jigsy.com, tell our support team at the Support Center or use the Feedback & Bug Reports section of the website builder Forum. If you see an error page showing a capsizing sailboat, there's no need to contact us as we are automatically notified in these cases.
